My daughter An kept on nudging me to blog, to try something new, something different, to keep me busy so that my mind will not be centered on waiting… waiting for the inevitable -DEATH. See, am 66 yrs old at the departure area, a retired teacher who for 44 years was so engrossed with raising a family and teaching . Now all of a sudden I have plenty of time in my hands. Feeling so rich!
What will I write? “Mama just write anything under the sun, something close to you heart and remember just do it for fun.”
Well why not?
What’s so close to my heart? LIVING A LIFE OF ABUNDANCE! Celebrating a meaningful and joyful life.
Jesus said in John 10:10b, “I came that they may have life and have it to the full.” Jesus came to show us how to experience the fullness of life - the abundant life. But… is this a reality in the lives of His followers? I do not know.
Just for fun I interviewed forty 50 believers in Christ, I interviewed how they’re experiencing life at present, answered “pait, lisod, apike” (Life is bitter, hard, so difficult). Asked further why they view life this way it came out that they equate life with money, with material possessions. Guess something got to be changed in the mind.
I chose to start blogging today when the whole world celebrates TEACHERS DAY! Why today?
Today when I thought it will just be another ordinary day the Division Office of Davao del Norte where I used to be part of honored us the retirees. Got a chance to be with friends being reunited with them lifted my spirit… feeling so happy and so rich!
Me, in green, during celebration of World Teachers’ Day
I am experiencing the ABUNDANT AND JOYFUL life. Thanks to my being a teacher! Thanks that I said Yes to a dream that started when I was 3 years old. Thanks to all those who helped me along the way. Thanks to God who called me to be one of His teachers.
